Here at CYO Seeds (Midlands) Ltd we’ve built over 50 machines in the past 40+ years. As contractor operators we are in a unique position. We bring to your farm; Equipment not only built to produce the best sample, they’re designed to operate smoothly and efficiently whilst having a simple set up and cleaning down process.
With our large processors we cater to all our farmer’s needs. Where there is pressure to process quite large seed lots quickly, we can produce high quality seed at whatever pace you require.
Our permanent staff build, maintain and run our seed processors. We also build for other contractors in the UK and abroad.
Westrup Cleaners/Graders
Screen Area & Size: From years of experience, we have come to understand that screen area combined with the use of large screen sizes are the principal keys to producing the best seed. Over 99% of the seed we process is passed through a Westrup cleaner. These enable us to carry out small specialised seed jobs through to the high output wheat and bean jobs.
Ball Cleaning: The sieve area is kept clean by balls rather than brushes. Balls are much more effective in keeping the sieves clean so the screens are working to maximum efficiency the whole time.
Double Aspiration: The Westrup also provides effective aspiration before and after grading.
Gravity Cleaning
Additionally, to the screen area is the Gravity Separator. This is used to lift any remaining admixture and the low density grain from the graded seed.
Chemical Treatment Systems
As well as using commercially available chemical applicators, we have designed and built our own chemical treatment systems to ensure exact dosing of all products. We have safety systems in place to prevent under/over dosing. As an industry standard all of our treatment systems are monitored continuously by us and by the chemical manufacturers for accuracy and evenness of distribution. All of our treaters hold a current M.O.T. for the application of seed treatments.
Bulk Processing Services
We offer a number of Bulk Processing options to our customers including:
- Admixture removal (chaff/straw, weed seeds, small grain etc.)
If you have admixture problem that needs removing from your seed our machines are specifically designed for these issues.
- Bushel Weight Improvement
If you have a low bushel weight problem and a higher bushel weight is achievable, we will be able to improve it for you.
- Ergot Removal
With the use of Colour Separation, Ergot can be removed from cereal samples with minimal losses.
